DESCRIPTION
This variation of our JR2/2 mic preamp is tailored for ADR Stages and Vocal Tracking duties. For some years now customized Pueblo JR preamps have been installed at Warner Brothers post-production studios and, more recently, at Todd-AO, Sony and Deluxe. These successes prompted the release of a proper production model; the JR2/2-ADR.
To accommodate smooth vocal riding, this model is fitted with high resolution potentiometers These pots are manufactured specifically for Pueblo Audio to have a beautifully fluid and gliding feel which is a joy to the hand. The pot's rotational action is noiseless and scaled to give perfect vocal control without sudden, wild jumps at the top of its travel.
A +20dB Gain Boost Switch brings the total maximum gain to +70dB. This allows the capture of the faintest breathes and sighs with vanishingly low noise and great intelligibility. Integrated 35Hz High Pass Filters help control low frequency room tone without reaching up into the vocal range. The combo of this HPF, vanishingly low self-noise and outstanding EMI/EMF rejection mitigates structural and telecom based intrusions. Mixers report trouble-free matching with production sound without fuss or extra work. The JR2/2-ADR's remarkable specifications are the same as all the JR2/2-Series.

Peak Limiter Option
In addition to these core features we also offer a Peak Limiter option to protect against clipping. What is special about our limiter is that there is no limiter! Well, not exactly. What we mean is that there is no additional limiter circuitry in the signal path. Instead, a parallel side-chain detects the peaks and then controls the gain structure of the preamp itself. When signals are below the ceiling threshold, the preamp's specified performance remains completely untouched. When signal rises above the threshold it is held at that ceiling. Even with 45dB of gain reduction the THD is only 0.15%. The highest fidelity limiter must be "no limiter" at all - and that's what Pueblo Audio has achieved in this product.
For practical ADR limiting applications, a "set it and forget it" approach was taken. Typically, the limiter's ceiling is adjusted using the front panel trim pots so that it will react a few dB below the recorder's clipping level. When the signal reaches that ceiling it is held there like a brick-wall, preventing overload of the following recorder's ADC.
